We are pleased to announce that the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) will host its annual conference in Portland, Oregon in 2018.
SNAG will take over the Portland Marriott Downtown Riverfront Hotel hotel from May 23 – May 26th of 2018. Please visit www.snagmetalsmith.org to find out more information.
The 2018 conference, MADE: Makers Across Disciplines Engage, focuses on materials, art, design, and interdisciplinary collaboration. While celebrating traditional and innovative techniques, we seek to engage makers and other creative individuals who push the boundaries of our field with a cross-media sensibility. Portland is a city that has a strong sense of community and is home to entrepreneurs and craftspeople alike. In response to this, we invite makers who work across disciplines to explore the unforeseen directions, inventiveness, and ingenuity within the metalsmithing field.
Even if you don’t register for the conference, there are still some one-of-a-kind events open to the public which will feature incredible metal art from around the country.
