Advocacy

CMAG actively promotes both CMAG as a guild and our guild members through general marketing to the public and by creating opportunities to show and sell their work through our annual participation in the Gathering of the Guilds , gallery shows, and the development of pop-up shops, trunk shows, and other exhibits.

We provide a searchable members’ directory that allows the public to find artists by skillset, technique, region, and project type. The level of data made public is in control of the individual members themselves. Artists looking for mentors and/or teachers can also search the directory for contacts. Additional member information can be made available only to other guild members.

We actively seek out opportunities to promote our members and their work through appearances and public demonstrations at community events, such as the Portland Mini Makers Faire and Art in the Pearl. If your organization is looking for a metalsmithing demonstration, please email guild@cmaguild.org with details of the event.
