Professional Jewelry Photography & DIY Tips

Capturing the perfect image of your jewelry is essential for selling, branding, and standing out in a competitive market. In this engaging and practical one day (6-hour) workshop, professional photographers Scott Erb and Donna Dufault will guide you through the fundamentals of jewelry photography, equipping you with the skills to elevate your product image —whether you’re using a smartphone or professional gear. Jewelry presents unique photography challenges—highly reflective surfaces, intricate details, and color accuracy. We’ll cover lighting techniques, including how to use natural light and DIY studio setups on a budget. You’ll learn to rig your own gear using simple, cost-effective tools that yield professional-quality results.
This course also explores different photography approaches for various platforms, from high-end ad photography to engaging social media content and clean, consistent website images. You’ll learn when it’s best to DIY vs. hire a professional, and how investing in the right photography can boost your brand. Expect hands-on demonstrations, on-screen examples, and real-world case studies—including recent shoots. Whether you're a jewelry artist, small business owner, or content creator, you’ll leave this workshop with practical tips, creative inspiration, and a clearer vision for showcasing your jewelry in its best light.
